How we can help

Advanced Environmental Services is experienced in working across all types of commercial and industrial projects.  We are committed to working in partnership with our clients and representatives to provide the best solutions for their projects.

We are renowned for safeguarding businesses making sure they meet their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) and Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016. These regulations have a significant impact on everyone, including people in control of a workplace (PCBU) and those who undertake any work involving asbestos. Substantial fines are now in place for failure to test a substance for asbestos prior to work commencing (ACM) removal.

The removal of asbestos has to be carried out by an accredited, licensed removalist. Licensed operators are required to notify WorkSafe NZ and employ approved contractors on all asbestos removal work.

Make sure you choose your own competent surveyor to fully survey the area, this way, they work for you independently, and not the removal contractor. You can now be certain independent high standards are completed. If you are having works carried out have your surveyor create the scope for the works. This way you will get apples for apples pricing.

We carry $10m public liability insurance and 2m environmental insurance cover.

Identifying asbestos

Choose an independent assessor/surveyor who works for you, they will give you the best independent advice.

Licensed assessors will properly identify ACM’s and deem them to be either friable or non-friable. Good assessors will be able to give you multiple options which will work for your project from management systems, encapsulations, to removal.

If you are unsure who to contact get in touch, and we will give recommendations for multiple highly competent assessors who will help.

Don’t make the mistake of trying to identify it yourself. There could be friable debris that is difficult to identify.
